Participation in the conference "Thinking about the university"
Two DIPLOCAT representatives talk about student exchange programs and the entity's scholarship program
For twenty-seven years, the Blanquerna Faculty of Communication and International Relations of Barcelona's Ramon Llull University has organized conferences with personalities from the academic, business and institutional world, who for three days participate in round tables and debates with students. This year's sessions were held between 7 and 9 March and had the theme "Thinking about the university".
Jordi Arrufat and Elisabet Moragas, both project managers at DIPLOCAT, were invited to speak about the importance of student exchange programs and about the DIPLOCAT scholarship program to study masters in international studies respectively. The session was attended by about fifty students of the Degree in Global Communication Management.
Arrufat highlighted the prestige of student exchange programs, both for the academic curriculum of university students and for the institution itself and even for the country. Beyond the diversity they bring to the campus, exchange students also carry out a task of soft power, exporting their customs, beliefs and traditions, during their stay abroad and also after their return. Arrufat also reviewed some of the most used soft power instruments, with special emphasis on the importance of digital communication.
For her part, Elisabet Moragas explained that the objective of the DIPLOCAT scholarship program is to have professionals specialized in international or European studies who in the future can collaborate in Catalonia's projection abroad.
