Eight students are doing master's studies abroad this year

Yesterday afternoon, the eight beneficiaries of the DIPLOCAT scholarship program who are currently doing master's studies abroad held a virtual meeting to talk about their experience with the Catalan minister for Foreign Affairs and European Union, Meritxell Serret, the secretary of Foreign Action of the Government of Catalonia, Miquel Royo, and the  secretary general of DIPLOCAT, Laura Foraster i Lloret.

The students began their master's studies last September and agreed to rate the experience very positively, both from the point of view of personal and academic experience. Minister Serret underlined the importance of training talent in the field of international relations and the will of the Department and DIPLOCAT to promote and value it. "Listening, connecting and making it easier for us to be heard in the world is one of our priorities," said Serret.

For her part, Laura Foraster talked about the training work carried out by the entity, both with the scholarship program and through specialized courses. Since 1983, the year in which the program was launched, more than 300 students have benefited from these scholarships. Foraster explained that there will be an institutional act of celebration during the next school year, coinciding with the 40th anniversary of the DIPLOCAT scholarship program.

DIPLOCAT's scholarship program allows the training of specialists in matters relating to the European Union and international relations, so that Catalonia has professionals who can develop an active role in these fields and in the Catalan institutions, companies and entities with global projection. This year, scholars are pursuing their studies in Amsterdam and Leiden (Netherlands), at the Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva (Switzerland) and at the College of Europe, both in Bruges (Belgium) and in Natolin (Poland).
