It's a joint initiative of the Barcelona Institute of International Studies (IBEI), Blanquerna-Universitat Ramon Llull, the European Institute of the Mediterranean and DIPLOCAT

From 3 to 7 July, a new edition of the Barcelona Summer School of the Mediterranean and the Middle East will take place. This year it will be co-organized by the Barcelona Institute of International Studies (IBEI), Blanquerna-Universitat Ramon Llull, the European Institute of the Mediterranean and DIPLOCAT. 

The 2023 edition will include a series of interactive and face-to-face courses (although online attendance will also be allowed in some cases) on politics and international relations in the Mediterranean and the Middle East, taught by renowned experts. Topics include gender and feminism, football and cultural wars, crisis management in Arab countries, religious commitment and migration, geopolitics in the Middle East and North Africa, cinema and politics, Islam and politics, and the new challenges in the geo-energy space of the Mediterranean following the war in Ukraine. The program also includes various panel discussions, excursions and cultural events, with visits to the headquarters of the Union for the Mediterranean, the modernist buildings of La Pedrera and Casa Milà, the FC Barcelona museum and a cinema afternoon, among other activities.

DIPLOCAT is a public-private consortium that, since 2012, aims to build bridges between Catalonia and the rest of the world and facilitate the transit of people, ideas and projects in both directions. Ramon Llull University and IBEI are two of the 38 members that are part of consortium.
