Volodymyr Yermolenko and Vakhtang Kebuladze will talk about the current situation in Ukraine
On 26 June, it will be the first public event organized by Catalonia International, in collaboration with the Catalan PEN Club and the Athenaeum of Barcelona
With the new brand of Catalonia International, the consortium will organize its first public event in collaboration with the Catalan PEN Club and the Athenaeum of Barcelona. It will be a meeting with Volodymyr Yermolenko, philosopher, journalist, political scientist and president of PEN Ukraine since 2022, and with Vakhtang Kebuladze, who is also a philosopher, university professor and member of PEN Ukraine. They both also coincide as editors of Ukraine World, a multimedia project that reports on Ukraine in several languages.
The event will take place on Wednesday 26 June at 6.30pm at the Athenaeum of Barcelona and access is free. The two guests will talk about "How to protect life and culture in Ukraine" in a conversation with translator, writer and journalist Marta Nin, who is also head of the Committee of Persecuted Writers of the Catalan PEN Club. They will also present the Spanish edition of the book "Ukraine in its history and its stories: essays by Ukrainian intellectuals", where several authors speak about their experiences and future perspectives.
