Animal food company receives IX DIPLOCAT Award for Catalan Business Projection

During the 37th edition of the PIMES Awards 2024

The animal food company Pinsos Picart received last night the IX DIPLOCAT Award for Catalan Business Projection in an event that took place in Barcelona. The event was attended by the president of the Catalan Government, Pere Aragonès; the president of the Parliament of Catalonia, Josep Rull; the mayor of Barcelona, ​​Jaume Collboni; and the Spanish Minister of Industry and Tourism, Jordi Hereu, among other authorities. The prize was handed during the 37th edition of the PIMES Awards, organized by the employers' association of small and medium enterprises of Catalonia PIMEC. PIMEC is one of the 38 entities that belong to the Catalonia International consortium. Next year the prize will change its name and become the Catalonia International Business Projection Award.

The finalist companies of the DIPLOCAT Award received a diploma from the secretary general of PIMEC, Josep Ginesta. The finalists were winery Castell del Remei, natural cosmetics products Alqvimia, aluminum curtains and other wire derivatives Kriskadecor, and glasses frame manufacturers Woodys Eyewear.

The secretary general of Catalonia International, Laura Foraster i Lloret, congratulated the awardees, stressing that the award aims to recognize the role of companies in promoting the Catalan economy and its values ​​around the world. The award recognizes those companies that help project Catalonia abroad with an image of country excellence, publicizing its assets and contributing to improving its international reputation. In previous editions the award was handed to the following companies: Aranow, Scytl, Moritz, Ultramagic, Beabloo, Munich, Yerse and El Rosal.

Pinsos Picart is a company founded in 1953 by Pere Icart. Initially, they were engaged in the production and sale of feed for farm animals, but now they exclusively produce food for companion animals. With 35 employees, its turnover is 15 million euros. They have recently inaugurated a new plant of 12,000 square meters with the capacity to produce 40,000 tons of feed every year. Their products can be found in countries such as Albania, Bulgaria, Crete, Cyprus, Egypt, Slovakia, Slovenia, Estonia, France, Georgia, Greece, Israel, Italy, Poland, Portugal and Romania.
