The Consortium's plenary meeting was held today online

The Governing Council of Catalonia International met this afternoon by videoconference, with the presence of representatives from 34 of the 38 member entities of the Consortium. On behalf of the President of the Catalan Government, Salvador Illa, who is also the President of the Governing Council, the Secretary of European, Multilateral and Development Cooperation at the Ministry of the European Union and Foreign Affairs, Agustí Fernández de Losada, chaired this plenary session and welcomed the participants.

The main item on the agenda was the approval of the Activity Report for the year 2024, with the corresponding financial account. The Director-General of Catalonia International, Laura Foraster i Lloret, summarized the activity of the past year, in which the Consortium approved new Statutes, changed its name from DIPLOCAT to Catalonia International, and renewed its logo and graphic brand.

In addition to this internal work, Catalonia International carried out a total of 42 public activities last year, with more than 300 speakers and more than 3,000 attendees. These activities include the organization of debates and conferences, international visitor programmes, monitoring of Catalonia's presence in international media and social networks, training courses and exchanges of good practices, to name a few.

In terms of digital activity, the Consortium ended the year with 34,085 followers on social networks and 25,654 visits to the website. Among the new content produced, the videos of the #ILoveCatalonia campaign stand out, with more than 70,000 views.

Other topics discussed during the Governing Council meeting are the approval of the 2024 annual accounts, the budget proposal for 2026, and information on the scholarship programme for the year 2025, which has increased substantially and has gone from 12 to 20 grants. A few words of remembrance were also dedicated to Enric Morist, president of the Group of Entities of the Voluntary Sector of Catalonia, a member entity of the Consortium, who died on 3 May.
