MEDIMED 2025 brings together more than 300 professionals from 50 countries
The 26th International European and Mediterranean Documentary Market took place in Sitges between 9 and 12 October
The Association of Independent Producers of the Mediterranean (APIMED) and Catalonia International organized the 26th edition of the MEDIMED DOC Market, the International Market for European and Mediterranean Documentaries, from 9 to 12 October in Sitges. This year, the event brought together more than 300 professionals from more than 50 countries and is consolidating itself as one of the most important meeting points in the documentary industry.
The objective of MEDIMED is to put independent producers in contact with television stations, distributors, sales agents and international festivals, promoting audiovisual co-production between Catalonia, the EU and the countries of the southern Mediterranean.
A total of 70 projects from 25 countries were present at MEDIMED 2025, with a program that included pitching, a digital video library and more than a thousand B2B professional meetings between delegates, in addition to parallel activities that promote exchanges and creativity:
- Pitching Forum: 22 projects from 14 countries are presented to investors and international networks.
- Co-producers Wanted Pitch: 9 projects are presented to a prominent group of European producers looking for projects to co-produce.
- Industry Talks: inspiring sessions on trends and challenges in the documentary industry.
- Docs Gallery: more than 250 documentaries produced between 2024 and 2025 from the Euro-Mediterranean region available to professionals.
- Speedy Pitch Meetings: 30 projects in various stages of development with quick business appointments.
- Anti Pitch: 16 titles in the rough-cut phase from 10 nationalities, ready to premiere at international festivals.

Under the direction of Sergi Doladé, MEDIMED has become a leading international platform. In recent years, more than 450 projects have received funding and some have received Oscar, Emmy, Prix URTI or Gaudí awards, or have been selected for the most important festivals in the world such as CPH DOX, DOK Leipzig, Hot Docs or IDFA.
MEDIMED 2025 featured the participation of top-level international television stations, distributors and platforms, such as 2M TV, 3CAT, ARTE, AL ARABYIA, AL JAZEERA, BBC ARABIC, FRANCE TV, MOVISTAR+, NHK, POV, RAI, TVE, ZDF and others.
MEDIMED is an initiative of APIMED, chaired by the Catalan producer Isona Passola, co-organized with Catalonia International and with the support of ICEC, ICAA, IEMed, the Barcelona Provincial Council and Sitges City Council.
