Collaboration with the OECD Water Governance Initiative (WGI)

Catalonia International participates in the meeting taking place today and tomorrow in Barcelona

Catalonia International is collaborating with the meeting of the Water Governance Initiative (WGI) that the OECD is organizing today and tomorrow at the Palau de Pedralbes in Barcelona. The Director-General of the Consortium, Laura Foraster i Lloret, attended this morning's round tables, which were preceded by an opening session with the Catalan Minister for European Union and Foreign Action, Jaume Duch. In addition to collaborating in the organization, Catalonia International has facilitated the participation of representatives of its two municipal member entities, ACM and FMC.

The Water Governance Initiative is a platform for sharing experiences, reforms and good practices. It operates as a multilateral network of over 100 experts, policymakers and practitioners, meeting every two years in so-called "Policy Forums" to discuss how to improve water management actions at all levels of government. It also serves to advise governments on the steps needed to implement effective reforms through peer-to-peer dialogue and the participation of stakeholders in the public, private and non-profit sectors.
