Analysis of international public opinion
Catalonia International, listens to what international public opinion is saying about Catalonia and what issues are being discussed the most around the world.
As Nicholas J. Cull, professor and expert in public diplomacy at the University of Southern California, says, "the basis of sound public diplomacy has always been listening, which means interacting with the foreign public to get information, analyse it and incorporate it into decision-making and avenues of action".
In order to listen to what international public opinion is saying, Catalonia International periodically undertakes three kinds of actions:
Opinion surveys
International image of Catalonia (2021-2022) (in Catalan)
International image of Catalonia - complete report (2020) (in Catalan)
Report on the international image of Catalonia – executive summary (2019)

Social networks monitoring
The global reports include all the threads about Catalonia and the members of the board of Catalonia International in social networks, forums and open blogs, no matter the topic. The specific reports exclude the threads about politics and sports, which are the most abundant when talking about Catalonia at an international level. From January 2021 on, they also exclude the threads about covid-19 and the book "Homage to Catalonia" by George Orwell. Hence, the specific report allows a detailed approach.
